A Frozen Malham Tarn
A Frozen Malham Tarn
Taken from near Nappa Cross looking N.E.To find such a large body of water in the middle of a limestone area is unusual.Faulting has brought the impermeable Silurian rocks to the surface and the water is held in place by a glacial moraine.
The snowcovered hill in the background is Buckden Pike
