Broad Halfpenny Lane
Broad Halfpenny Lane
At this point Broad Halfpenny Lane (pronounced Broadhayp'ny) forms the eastern boundary of Tadley Common. The picture is looking north from the junction with Blake's Lane. I believe the road got its name from the hapenny toll charged to cattle drovers using the lane to reach grazing ground on the common.
