Sunday at the Fair
The fair did not close until late on Saturday evening but before mid-day on Sunday the Market Place had been cleared as the showmen worked through the night to take down their rides and sideshows ready to move on to their next venue. A few lorries remained in the surrounding streets and it would be a few days later before the Magic Mouse roller coaster in Pimlico was eventually dismantled. To the uninformed though, it would be hard to believe that the Market Place had been such a hive of excitement and activity during the previous week.
