Mother Anthony's Well
Seen from Oliver's Castle. For a closer view see ST9964 : Meadow at the base of Roundway Hill
----------------------------------------------------------
"This is a lovely shallow chalk bottomed stream in a small broadleafed wood emanating at the foot of Oliver's Castle. To access it, walk down the valley between Oliver's Castle and the Roundway Covert (Wood) keep on through the pasture up to the stock fence. At the fence go left and over the stile into the next field. Immediately after the stile, duck down through a hole in the hedge on your right to the field on the other side. Follow this hedge back in the direction you came and it will curve around the wood. There are suitable openings into the wood so be patient you shouldn't have to battle the nettles. Once in, head to the middle to find the water. Remember this is not a designated right of way. Respect and enjoy."
