Trinity Well, Paughanstown, Co. Louth
The holy well in Trinity Green is now contained in a concrete pipe. A pattern or station was held here into the mid-19th century. According to an article in the Co. Louth Archaeological Journal (1950) the pattern followed a degenerate course thereafter, and while wrestling, weight throwing, bullets and other such games were practised, prayers were few and fighting common. The well continued to be used for domestic supply into the 1970s.
