Camber Castle
Built in 1539 by Henry VIII, Camber castle lies between Rye and Winchelsea in East Sussex. Camber itself is actually 2.5 miles away, to the other side of Rye.

The castle was built around an earlier tower that had been built adjacent the sea to defend the harbour. The sea has since retreated by 1 mile.

Viewed from above the Castle has a tortoise like shape with four round towers at each corner and another entrance tower.

Visitors have to walk for a mile or so see the castle.
