Construction of a new power station at Uskmouth
A new 800MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power station is being built on this site next to the existing 360MW coal-fired Uskmouth B power plant.
It is costing £400m and is planned to be operational in 2010.
The site was occupied by the Uskmouth A power station from the 1950s to the 1990s.
The picture is taken from the adjacent Newport Wetlands Reserve.
