After a day of heavy rain the air was very clear after the clouds cleared in the evening. The splendid beach backed by sand dunes runs all the way from the River Ythan to Aberdeen, some 12 miles distant. Sadly, this is the habitat, rated as being a Site of Special Scientific Interest, that the Trump Corporation plans to turn into two golf courses complete with an appropriately large hotel and over 1000 houses.
The line of concrete blocks running along the top of the beach were built in 1940 to repel an earlier invader.
