TL8065 : Former station on Ipswich-Cambridge line
near to Risby, Suffolk, Great Britain

Former station on Ipswich-Cambridge line
The line from Bury St Edmunds to Newmarket was opened in April 1854 and the Saxham & Risby Station was built at this time.
The station closed to goods traffic on 28th December 1964 and to passenger traffic two years later on 2nd January 1967, along with three other stations on the line, at Higham, Six Mile Bottom and Fulbourn. Little remains of the station now, just part of the former platform on the north side of the lines.
The buildings in the background form part of the Calor Gas site on the Saxham Business Park; their employees use an area for car parking that was once the station forecourt.
