SK0974 : Tarmac's Tunstead Concrete Plant
near to Upper End, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Tarmac's Tunstead Concrete Plant
Using stone from the quarry that it sits in, and cement which is made approximately 500 yards away, it's only the sand that is externally sourced. That comes from the Cheshire plain at Fourways, not far from Northwich. Overall in terms of transport and road miles, it's about the 'greenest' you can make concrete.
