Comelybank Mill and Chimney
Comelybank Mill and Chimney
A view from King Street to Comelybank Mill and chimney with housing behind at Magdala Terrace, Halliburton Place and Glendinning Terrace. In 1868 the mill was occupied by Bogue, Lees and Company and it changed from steam to electric power in 1914. The main business of the mill was cloth making but a dyehouse was established in the 1970s. (Mill information source: Galashiels, A Modern History).
