Rosyth Dockyard
This pier is now used for the ferry service but back in 1982 was within the working Naval dockyard.
The Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service dumb salvage barge RMAS 483(M) is against the wall and outboard is the grab hopper dredger St Giles.
In 1982 they were both working steam powered vessels and in 2009 they are both distant memories.
I went on St Giles with permission but having to walk across the salvage barge I went below and had a quick look. The watchkeeper was nowhere to be seen but I resisted the urge to photograph - I could have got in all sorts of trouble.
