Fissh 'n' Chipps?
Maybe the sign writer got carried away by the double letters in 'Cappuccino'. Maybe he/she was thinking of 'wining' and dining a loved one. Maybe doubling the award meant doubling a letter. Maybe it was a deliberate ploy based on Ronnie Barker's 'Open All Hours' comedy to encourage customers into the shop and then to sell them something they didn't really want. Or perhaps it was just an honest mistake. Whatever the reason the numerous signs outside the shops have become a feature of Bath Street. At one time the town was renowned for its variety of shops including major national chain stores but now it is predominantly (although not exclusively) estate agents, mobile phone shops and fast food outlets.
