SE4898 : Small Pond, Holy Well Gill

Small Pond, Holy Well Gill
Small Pond, Holy Well Gill
A return visit to this pond; see SE4898 : Holy Well Spring. It is now more reedy than three years ago. I am not 100% confident this is the right square. Also why it was built. The dam certainly looks man-made but it is a long way to the nearest village and there are no obvious signs of mineral extraction around. Perhaps it is an attempt to encourage ducks to breed.
