SE5890 : Roppa Edge trig point

Roppa Edge trig point
Roppa Edge trig point
Even though this is the second photo of this trig point, I simply had to include it as it's my trig point - officially adopted from Ordnance Survey and regularly painted! Although only 328m above sea level, there is a fine view from here in all directions. Miles of heather moorland dominate the view to the north, whilst to the south the Tabular Hills descend gently towards the western end of the Vale of Pickering with the Howardian Hills beyond. In the distance it is sometimes possible to see the Wolds to the SE, the chimneys of the 3 big power stations in the Aire/Ouse lowlands to the south, whilst to the west the bulk of Great Whernside can sometimes be seen over the top of the Hambleton Hills.
