Freya's Cabin
Freya's Cabin
A new legend has been created for the Kielder Water and Forest Park (very new, as Kielder Water only came into being in the early 1980s). Freya, who was very much into flowers and lived on the south shore spied Robin, an eco-friendly guy who lived on the opposite shore. To entice him over, she wove a cabin out of flowers, but unfortunately, Robin had the sun in his eyes and was unable to see the cabin intended for him. Without giving away too much of the story, they eventually got to live together happily ever after. The full story can be read on LinkExternal link

On a more mundane note, the cabin was designed by Studioweave and built in early 2009 at the base of the Bull Crag Peninsula, set just above the Lakeside Way. Although not visible on this image, it is possible to make out Robin's hut NY6788 : Robin's Hut on the far shore with the naked eye.
