SO0323 : Woodland Glade
4 km from Libanus, Powys, Great Britain

Woodland Glade
This open grassy woodland looks attractive but is impermanent. At the moment the sheep are excluded while they graze the higher slopes of the Beacons during the summer. Their presence at other times of year means that there are no saplings and young trees. You can see some shoots with leaves at the base of some trees but those will be eaten when the sheep are readmitted. The tussocky hummocks are old ant hills.
