Kielder Dam
Kielder Dam
Kielder Reservoir is the largest artificial lake in the United Kingdom by capacity and it is surrounded by Kielder Forest, the largest man-made woodland in Europe. The earth dam at Kielder was built using retaining wall anchor techniques. It is 170 feet high and three quarters of a mile wide. There is a lot of material in that shallow repose bank of earth. There needs to be as there's a lot of water to retain. LinkExternal link
