This picture shows a non-intervention area in TM2031 : Copperas Wood. Following the 1987 Storm the Essex Wildlife Trust decided to leave some areas of their woods untouched partly as an experiment to see how woodland naturally regenerates and partly to provide habitat for invertebrates. Much of the rest of this wood is managed by coppicing. This creates the environment for spectacular displays of TM2031 : Foxgloves.
