St Michael's Church, Elmley Lovett
The church as it is today was built over many years. The tower is the oldest part dating from around the year 1200, the spire is a little later. The old nave fell into disrepair and was demolished in 1837 and was replaced with the present one which was built by John Mills and consecrated in 1840. The rector at this time was Henry Percival, son of Spencer Percival, the British Prime Minister, shot in 1812 by John Bellingham. The church is in the care of the Historic Churches Preservation Trust.
