The tower-house was the residence of the Lord and his immediate family. The area pictured was probably occupied as a sleeping and work area, and perhaps used as a kitchen. Below this is the cellar of the tower-house, a secure storage-area. (All the current floors and the roof of the tower-house are modern.)
