Cycle track under the London to Swindon railway, Swindon
The cycle track follows the original route of what is now the A4259. The main road was diverted around this point in the 1970s to allow for a wider road with greater headroom. County Road can be seen at the far end of the tunnel in this south-facing view. The underside of the bridge consists of heavy steel beams strong enough to bear the weight of trains including heavily laden ones carrying limestone from the West Country.
