Nautical Junk in Foulkes & Sons Riverside Boatyard
I was puzzled by this large iron anchor. The left arm has been bent back onto the shank, leaving the right arm forming a hook. This could not have happened by accident as the forces naturally arising would be likely in the opposite direction. A large forge would have been needed to do this, I presume. It seems to make a stronger hook than would have been formed by simply cutting off the left arm.
