SD4600 : Wild west

Wild west
Wild west
The 1940s map guarded our wartime security by showing nothing at this point. The modern map square is dominated by a set of buildings arranged in a pear-shape, and this building stands guard over its top end. I assume the buildings were stores for munitions turned out at the Ordnance Factory at Kirkby, a mile or so west of here.
