Stoke Canon Bridge
Stoke Canon Bridge
The bridge was originally medieval; this structure is probably C15, rebuilt in the C19, and with the causeway beyond, over 800 feet long. Details are at LinkExternal link . The causeway carries the A396 across the lower Culm valley to a bridge over a leat, which once powered Stoke Canon paper mill (thanks to Martin Bodman for this information). Looking SSE.
