The A59 through Gisburn
The A59 through Gisburn
This trunk road is very busy, and speeding has been a problem since the early days of motoring. The big house on the left, now apartments, was built in 1635 and became the Ribblesdale Arms probably some time in the 19C, perhaps at the same time as the front windows of the ground and first floor were modernised. For the plaque over the door of the house see SD8248 : Plaque on the former Ribblesdale Arms, Gisburn.
