near to Llechryd, Ceredigion/Sir Ceredigion, Great Britain

Manordeifi old church, box pews at rear
Both sides of the nave are filled with box pews reserved for local families and made by their own craftsmen to slightly different designs. The two higher ones on either side of the entrance arch are adorned with fluted columns and belonged to the Ffynnonau family.
The enclosed pews would have helped to restrict draughts around the worshippers legs in the unheated church. There are small candleholders atop the partitions.
