Fasnacloich lies in Glen Creran, above the head of Loch Creran. In 1923 Mrs Ysobel Stewart of Fasnacloich, with Miss Mary Milligan, founded the Scottish Country Dance Society, since 1951 the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. A dance (a 32-bar reel) has been composed in her honour.
