TR3559 : Marsh Helleborine (Epipactis palustris)
near to Great Stonar, Kent, Great Britain

Marsh Helleborine (Epipactis palustris)
One of the favoured locations of this orchid is in coastal dune slacks, as here, on the Royal St Georges golf links. They tend to develop large colonies, due to the spreading of rhizomes underground. The individual flowers are considered by many to be one of the most attractive of all British orchids - for close up see TR3559 : Marsh Helleborine (Epipactis palustris).
