Raigmore Cairn
Formerly known as Stoneyfield Cairn, this Clava-type cairn, dating from approximately 3,000BC, was relocated to its present position in winter 1974/5.
This was done because the cairn happened to be inconveniently on the line of the about-to-be-built A9 dual carriageway.
Since being moved, the cairn has had a difficult time, at one time being completely overgrown, and being used as a site for burning garden rubbish...!
