Circular buddle, Ore dressing plant below Cwm Bychan mine
Buddles were used to was and separate out lighter and heavier elements of ores. The buddle consisted of a concreted circular pit with rotating brushes. Ore would be sent to the centre of the pit. Denser material would be deposited towards the centre and lighter material towards the outside. There is another buddle nearby, without the central cone.
