3 km from Sandwich, Kent, Great Britain

Viper's-Bugloss (Echium vulgare)
Viper's-Bugloss (Echium vulgare)
A robust clump of this member of the Borage family among the dunes of the Royal St George's golf course, this being a typical habitat, along with chalk grasslands. This particular plant had attracted a large number of Six-spot Burnet moths (Zygaena filipendulae), visible on the flowers in the photo.
