TR3658 : Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis)

3 km from Sandwich, Kent, Great Britain

Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis)
Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis)
Although the Royal St Georges golf course is most well known for its population of Lizard Orchids (see TR3658 : Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum) for example), it is also home to a number of other species of orchid. One of the others found here is the Pyramidal Orchid, see here. The taller plant beyond is Viper's-Bugloss (see TR3557 : Viper's-Bugloss (Echium vulgare)). In the far distance are the cooling towers of the disused Richborough Power Station.
