Bishopston Fundamental Benchmark
One of the more important locators today - unlike most triangulation pillars, this is still of importance to the Ordnance Survey as a passive GPS station.

Underneath this small pillar, not far from bedrock is a concrete "coffin" containing both a metal stud and flint marker which have had their locations measured incredibly accurately in the past. These days, just the marker on the surface of the small pillar is now measured as part of the modern GPS survey.
