The traditional poppyhead on the end of a churchwarden's pew in All Saints' Church, surmounted by a candle sconce. These box pews were a surprisingly conservative installation as late as 1858, when many churches in less remote areas were busily replacing their 18th-century fittings with interiors more in the Victorian style inspired by the Tractarian revival.
