Southern Marsh Orchid (Dactylorhiza praetermissa) and Marsh Helleborine (Epipactis palustris)
A group of these two orchids in a dune slack on the Royal St Georges golf course. For close up of the two species, see TR3558 : Southern Marsh Orchid (Dactylorhiza praetermissa) and TR3559 : Marsh Helleborine (Epipactis palustris). The yellow is of Greater Bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus pedunculatus), larger and more erect and foudn in damper habitats than its more common relative the Common Bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus corniculatus), which prefers drier conditions.
