Viewed from the Old Bridge. This building appears to have started life as a pair of small cottages facing Bridge Gate. At some point in the 19th century the building appears to have been greatly enlarged,with the new part of the building facing Hebden Water. The building is now a gift shop. A public walkway runs alongside the river, below River Cottage. The 'Wavy Steps' were built in early 2007 as part of a larger scheme to improve the 'public realm' of Hebden Bridge.
