'Iron Age' roundhouse in Rede Wood
'Iron Age' roundhouse in Rede Wood
This roundhouse in Rede Wood was constructed by students from Claydon High School in 2007, as part of an archaeology project. The wood itself is a Local Nature Reserve, managed by the Gipping Valley Countryside Project, who took over management of the wood in the early 1980s. After 50 years of neglect, volunteers from the project successfully introduced a hazel coppicing scheme.
