SO8832 : Abbey Mill Weir
near to Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, Great Britain

Abbey Mill Weir
View north from the river bank. The water level is so high that the weir under the bridge is submerged. This level is common and in moderate floods the river can go higher and safely overflow onto the ham on the left. In the distance (just above the end of the railings) the large brown building is the water works, which has now got a much higher levee around it following the 2007 floods, when it was out of action and drinking water had to be transported in.
