GeoGraph - photograph every grid square

of a "Hampshire Gate" while out walking today 'cos I wanted to ask the wise sages on Geograph about it. I've only ever heard the name since living in Hampshire and I don't think I'd ever seen one before moving here, but they do seem very common in the county.
A "Hampshire Gate", consists of a short section of wire fencing where the end uprights (in this case rusty metal) are tied or otherwise loosely fixed across a field entrance, thereby providing an easily removable section of fence, but avoiding the expense of installing a proper gate.

Do these constructions go by different names in other parts of the country? and are they widely used outside Hampshire?
