taken 18 years ago, 4 km NNE of Applethwaite, Cumbria, England

Head of Caldew Valley
Head of Caldew Valley
Taken from inside one of the ruins at Skiddaw House. These moors and fells were once used for grouse shooting, and the many ruined butts make relatively comfortable picnic spots. Skiddaw House itself was once a shooting Lodge.
