Jessie is East Linton's clock. The figures are part of the fountain in The Square.
Jessie is so called because some youths climbed the tower inside and poured a libation on the clock, naming it after one of the village lassies.
The church is St Andrew's, one of the first built by the Free Church of Scotland after the great Disruption of 1843 when they broke away from the Church of Scotland.
