Trees are encroaching on this tower house in the village of Ballyclogh, and its roof has collapsed in recent times. The castle was held by the MacRoberts branch of the Barrys, and was forfeited in 1641 and given to the Purdons. In the early 19c it was altered to provide a residence for the estate steward, and the bawn filled with lean-to buildings, all now derelict.
