Traffic emerging from Bell Street the wrong way in 1980
The change of flow was due to road works in New Street. See SU7682 : Road works in New Street during 1980 willsonnet66 has kindly supplied the following information: The lead car in this image is almost certain to be a mk 1 Ford escort Mexico. Third vehicle back behind the Austin Allegro is a standard version of the Escort. Wheel arch extensions, wheel size and decals bearing the legend meXico were the main at-a-glance external identifiers I use the term almost certain as a lot of fakes were created in the after market sector and some were very well executed.
