Bonsai hawthorn on limestone pavement
This hawthorn shrub, apart from being stunted like many others on the pavement, appeared to have two other interesting adaptations: unusually densely-packed leaves, which I presume reduces evapotranspiration in a very dry environment; and an absence of thorns - the pavement itself presumably providing a barrier to predation by sheep.
