NR8390 : Passing a misplaced sign

taken 15 years ago, near to Cairnbaan, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

Passing a misplaced sign
Passing a misplaced sign
Although the sign is on the canal side of the boundary fence, it is not possible to pass boats travelling in opposite directions in a lock. The sign, of course, refers to use of the adjacent single track lane along the north side of the Crinan Canal at Cairnbaan. It is also fairly unusual to see a canal narrowboat using the Crinan Canal, its principal traffic being yachts heading to or from the Atlantic seaboard of Scotland.
