Poet's Corner, The New River
A pretty, quiet section of The New River. Inscribed on the monolith of the island is the following. AMWELL Perpetual be thy Stream. Nor eer thy spring be lefs. Which thousands drink, who never dream. Whence flows the boon they blefs. Too often thus ungrateful man. Blind and unconscious lives, Enjoy kind Heaven's indulgent plan, Nor thinks of Him who gives.
