Clapper bridge
An ancient footbridge in Newsholme Dean. The central stone appears precarious but has remained in place from an unknown date in the past. The stone it rests on at the right-hand end is kept in place by another heavy stone. This type of bridge is sometimes called a clam bridge.
The structure is Grade II listed.
