SP8982 : Ford and Bridge, Geddington, Northants SP8982 : The Ford at Geddington SP8982 : Looking across the bridge at Geddington"In Geddington the River Ise [tributary of the Nene] is crossed by an unusually massive bridge. Three of its four arches are pointed in shape, but at least one of these appears to have been rebuilt, and the southern arch has been repaired with blue bricks. The keystone of the middle arch, which is semicircular, bears the date 1784. The cutwaters are immense, with correspondingly large recesses for foot passengers, but these were necessary as the parapets are less than 11 feet apart. The total span is 29 yards."
