War memorial at Great Carlton, Lincolnshire, taken 12 years ago
This is the smooth granite memorial, built by Mawer Brothers of Louth, and situated at the side of the road on a small grass verge close to the entrance to Hall Farm. It was not always at this location; it was formerly outside the village hall, but was moved to its present position in time for the Millennium 2000. There are 49 names on the memorial, all men who left the village to fight in World War I, 11 of whom never returned.
